Located on Indianapolis’ famed Monument Circle, the Columbia Club has stood witness to many historic events. From the ticker-tape parade honoring Charles Lindbergh after his transatlantic flight, the euphoria of celebrants jumping into the fountains at the end of World War II to the cheers of thousands of children at the annual Circle of Lights Tree Lighting, the Columbia Club continues to play a major role in Indianapolis history.

The Crystal Terrace, located on our third floor, is one of the most sought-after dining rooms in the city of Indianapolis. Since 1925, the Club has hosted lavish social and business events attended by local and national celebrities, U.S. Presidents and even royalty. This historic dining room, with seating for up to 200 guests, contains the original marble floors, hand-stenciled ceiling and leaded-glass windows overlooking Monument Circle. Brides and grooms have been introduced down the Grand Staircase into this opulent dining room for nearly a century. In addition to the cake-cutting ceremony, family and friends will enjoy the time-honored tradition of the groom “popping” the champagne to serve his bride!
After a multi-million dollar renovation, the Columbia Club’s 10th Floor Foyer and Grand Ballroom offer sweeping views of Monument Circle. Here your guests will enjoy white-gloved, butler-passed hors d’oeuvres and cocktails while being entertained by music from a baby grand piano once owned by Columbia Club Orchestra leader, Hoagy Carmichael. After the ringing of the dinner chimes your guests will be awed by the stately elegance of our Grand Ballroom, with seating for up to 300 guests. Prior to the wedding toasts, may we suggest the Club’s Platinum Champagne service? The banquet staff will offer guests champagne complete with a single rose pedal floating in each flute.

Our exquisite experience began early in the planning stages: imagining the room decore, food tasting, room accomodations and the final sparkler send -off in a carriage, was like waving a magic wand. We would barely utter a wish and A.J. would make it happen. The banquet staff was top notch as they made us feel like we were all family and very much at home during the reception. There was not one detail left unattended and a beautiful memory was created for us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
My daughter had her wedding in the lobby at the Columbia Club and her reception in the Crystal Terrace Ballroom June of 2008 and it was spectacular! AJ is the best!!!! Everything from the food and staff couldn’t have been more perfect, they really take care of you. What a place and what a treasured memory, soooo beautiful.

We had a small wedding and reception at the Columbia Club. AJ and his team went above and beyond to make it our day! Everyone was wonderful! Working with AJ was a dream! I could not have asked for a better experience. If you want your wedding and/or reception to be elegant and stress free, I recommend the Columbia Club.
We searched high and low throughout the city and suburbs for the perfect place to be married. When we walked into the Columbia Club’s Crystal Terrace, we both knew immediately we had found it! A.J. was awesome, from the beginning in working out our date, to the very end when the florist didn’t bring enough rose petals and he ran out to get some on our wedding day. He had so many great ideas and worked very hard with us to plan everything out ahead of time. The result was a stress-free, fun-filled day in which everything went off without a hitch. He even allowed our photographer to explore the Columbia Club, and we ended up with lovely pictures throughout the Club on our wedding day.
One of the best things about the Columbia Club is its immense beauty, which needs very little adornment. The food was incredible–our guests raved about dinner. The staff, as well as A.J., were professional and helpful. We could not have asked for a better wedding and reception. They all went above and beyond to make it a memorable day, and we are very grateful.

My husband and I had our wedding at the Columbia Club in April of 2008. The staff is efficient, the food was delicious and A.J. was very attentive to us. The day went smoothly and we loved our experience. It is a magical place to have your wedding and reception.
My husband and I were married in October 2008 and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful reception. Throughout the months leading up to our wedding, working with A.J. was such a blessing. He was extremely attentive to details, always available to answer questions, and he made sure that the event was the way my husband and I desired it to be. Through his knowledge and experience, he was also able to suggest excellent vendors to work with and led us to a wonderful florist and superb wedding cake designer. I’m certain that I couldn’t have found a more genuine and nicer person to work with than A.J. Pleugh!!!!
The day of the event, A.J. and the staff at the Columbia Club were amazing! Their attention to detail created a beautiful atmosphere. The servers were extremely friendly and very attentive to the needs of all who attended. The chefs created delicious entrees which the guests indicated were truly some of the best they’d ever eaten.
I would highly encourage you to have your wedding reception at The Columbia Club. The service and food are exceptional, the atmosphere is unique and beautiful, and the staff has amazing hearts for truly serving others.

My daughter, fiance, his parents, and myself all were guests at the first “Dancing with the Stars” night at the club. What a truly amazing time we all had in the Crystal Terrace Room, probably one of the most beautiful rooms in the city. AJ, you and the staff at the Columbia Club really know how to put on a grand event. Shannon and Zach are so VERY pleased that their wedding and reception will be at the club. We are expecting many out of town guests so the convenience of having the ceremony, reception, and overnight accomodations all in one place is immeasurable. We all got just a taste of what is to come and it literally brought tears to our eyes (the two moms anyway). Thank you so much for the fine time, all the way from the welcome to the good-night!
My husband and I celebrated our reception at the Columbia Club in April 2008 and it was absolutely perfect. The level of service from the staff was beyond our expectations, and I just can’t say enough about A.J. During the planning process, my husband was in the Air Force and living out of state. A.J. was more than accomodating to our unpredictable schedule. He had boundless energy and met every one of our needs, even addressing some I never would have thought of! A.J. even suggested surprise for my husband since his closest friends were unable to attend. It worked perfectly and even brought tears to my husband’s eyes. We still talk about it as one of the big highlights of the day.
If you’re on the fence on where to celebrate your reception, you can’t go wrong with the Columbia Club. I had guests from all walks of life and they all had wonderful things to say about the day afterword. It was truly a wonderful day for us and will be for you as well.
With the wedding ceremony and reception being held at one venue, The Columbia Club proved to be the perfect choice of location for our daughter’s wedding! Everything from start to finish was fantastic…absolutely fantastic! AJ Ploughe was wonderful to work with, always prompt in answering emails or phone messages and very reassuring and calming as the date grew close. AJ also gave us great direction and suggestions but was never pushy or demanding.
We rented the Columbian Suite for the weekend which proved to be the site for several wedding-weekend events. On Friday, the suite was the site for the Bridesmaid’s Luncheon. Saturday, the suite became a hair & make-up salon for the bridal party. Then late Saturday night after the festivities, it was a great place for friends and family to reminisce. It seemed that each time we left the suite it looked well used but when we returned all was refreshed and welcoming once again! The staff could not have been more accommodating; they could anticipate our needs and took care of them before we could ask!
